An Historic Rivalry Continues, Ganado vs. Refugio, in Port Lavaca

If you said the Indians and the Bobcats will be battling one another, you'd be correct. But ifyou said the year will be 1824, you'd only be partially correct.

Most accurately: In Texas high school 2AD1 football "Regional" playoffs on Friday, November 29, 2024, the Ganado Indians will go against the Refugio Bobcats, in Port Lavaca--according to info provided by Max Preps. And the encounter promises to be a humdinger. The Bobcats will be seeking revenge for Ganado's decisive defeat of them in the playoffs las.t year, while Ganado will be out to prove that the defeat was no fluke. Both teams are 11-1, with Ganado's only loss being to the East Bernard Brahmas and Refugio's only defeat, a whipping early in the season at the hands of the Edna Cowboys.

Both East Bernard and Edna have strong teams and are still competing in their divisions.

The Bobcats have a powerful ground game, led by senior running back Jordan King, who, at times, appears to be unstoppable with his speedy, hard-nosed dashes to wherever he spots an open field. The Indians are spearheaded by senior quarterback "Mr. Do It All!" Bryce Ullman: in 2024's playoff game Ullman dominated the Bobcats. Ullmsn will, no doubt, be a special target for the Cats on Friday night.

Some long-time observers are saying that Jordan King just may be the best running back the Bobcats have ever had. Jordan is averaging over 180 yards per game rushing, which could be much higher had he more totes. Jordan has speed and power to go with an extraordinary ability to see what's going on all over the field as he runs.
