Can Malakoff Hang Tough?

The Malakoff Tigers (12-0), the defending champions, will face their most formidable 3AD! 2024 opponent this Friday, the Jefferson Bulldogs, in the Regionals.

Both teams have huge rushing games and among their respective opponents both have wins over Grandview, Mineola and Tatum, with Malakoff's win over the latter the only one showing perhaps a relative dominance in favor of Malakoff. The Tigers defeated Tatum, 52-13, and Jefferson best Tatum by only 5 points, 18-13. It's worth remembering, however, that the Malakoff win followed Jefferson's 5-point victory; it often takes only one narrow loss (Tatum's to Jefferson) to take the steam out of any team, which seems to have been the case here.
