Joaquin Rams May Be Stiffer Opponent than Ganado Indians Want or Expect in Semis

The2024 records of Joaquin (10-4) and Ganado (13-1) strongly indicate that the Indians should be a solid favorite.

But first stats do not tell the whole story. For example, they do not here tell us which team competed in the stronger region, nor to what degree the games were won or lost.

For example, Joaquin scored 48 or more points in five of their wins, and the Rams lost to the defending 2022 and 2023 state titlist Timpson, by but 3 points, 49-52. Ganado had a relatively easy time last week in defeating Marlin, 41-14. Joaquin defeated a ranked foe, Honey Grove, 46-22.

Joaquin relies heavily on its running game, led by senior running back Elijah Harrison, who sports a 144.8 yards per game average rushing, with 29 TDS for the season.
