Kerens Bobcats Look to Be Heard From



Ever hear of Kerens before? Don't feel badly if you haven't; Neigher had I until a few years aga when talking with one of the finest gentlemen I've ever known; and he told me he grew up in Kerens. So I've studied up some.


For 2024 the Kerens Bobcats are in a new district (#8) with a new head coach. After Ted Patton resigned from that position, earlier this year, the KISD hired the defensive coordinator for Malakoff, Brent Watkins to replace Patton.



The new district is, however, not as new as one might expect. Along with Kerens, three other members of the 2023 District (#7) we moved into District 8: Cayuga, Cross Roads and Mildred (Corsicana). In addition, in a non-district matchup on Sept. 6, Kerens travel to Axtell, which also was in their 2023 District 7.


The Bobcats of Kerens begin their 2024 football season on Friday, August 30, at Bremond. They lose out their regulars hosting Price Carlisle, also of their new District 8.
