Violent storms are expected to continue today through the central states and possibly into Missouri. Damaging hailstorms may occur in North Texas and Oklahoma.

Trump has renewed his treat to cancel Harvard's exempt status. PB thinks this is a no-win challenge by Trump. Harvard is much stronger than he thinks; it has powerful alums and a very nice-sized endowment. As PB has said several times, taking on Harvard was a huge error on Trump's part.

The 2028 elections are, indeed, a few years away, but it's not too early to bring up one that may be a donnybrook in Texas. Republican Senator John Cronyn is likely to face a significant challenge within his own party by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The winner of that race will then probably have to face Beto O'Rourke, who, despite his previous failure against Ted Cruz, can still raise formidable amounts of money and he remains very popular among Democrats. Some observers of this scenario think Cronyn is vulnerable, especially due to his inability to replace Mitch McConnell as Senate majority leader.

It is with a touch of sarcasm that PB reports the announcement yesterday by Vice President Vance that the war in Ukraine will not end very soon. Way to go JD! Not everyone is so observant.

Special reminder to Texans: KRYSTAL HAMBURGERS has returned to your state. (Putt recalls once having a roommate who would order five at a time for a single meal.}
