New District in 3AD2 Means Higher Hopes for the Clifton Cubs

In his third year, HC Brent Finning is hoping his Cubs will improve significantly over their 5-6 season in 2023 and 3-8 record in 2022.  Preseason 2024 they are indeed thankful they will not have to meet the likes of Rogers and Lexington.

But the Cubs will have to face Tolar, the heavy favorite to win their new district (5). Fortunately, we hope, the game will be on the Cubs' field (see below).

Joaquín De la Hoya will no doubt be a team leader, as will Diego Rodriquez (both are on the right of photo below, De la Hoya far right).

The Cubs host Riesel in their opener on 8/30.  They also close the season at home, Nov. 8, against Brady.

Riley Finney, Brent's son, recently graduated; but his senior year, he did manage to win a state powerlifting title.
