Refugio Sinks the London Pirates on Their Home Field, 55-6

Things did not start out well for the Bobcats, pregame. The handlers of the giant Bobcat balloon could not get it to stand up due to the strong wind blowing in from the Gulf. Some onlookers might well have thought that was a bad omen for the visiting team. However, the Bobcats quickly proved such doubts to be out of order.

The Cats jumped all over the Pirates in the first quarter, which ended 21-6. They added a td early in the second to lead 29-6. At that point, the Pirates seem to have found a proper balance between their running and their passing game, led by senior quarterback Alex Manning. The score did not change until after half-time; but the Bobcats scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth, while holding the Pirates without another.

Refugio showed an awesome running game, led by running back Zander Wills who ran for 95 total yads and two TDS, all of which London quarterback Alex Manning found impossible to counter although he threw for over 200 yards for the night.
