Three Coaches on the Hot Seat 2025

Josh Ervin of Ganado has the enviable task of trying to lead the Indians to a repeat of their 2024 title; but he must do so without Bryce Ullman, the superstar quarterback who led the championship team. -

Yes, Ervin may well do what seems impossible. He is already known as a coach who can develop a solid quarterback. Look to see how well the Indians do in their first "all away" games at Van Vleck, Boling and East Bernard, which should tell a lot.

Delbert Cox may have an even more difficult task, which would be mainly to restore the place of preeminence to his Refugio Bobcats in 2025. Cox is in his third year as head coach, following Jason Herring's retreat to being the athletic director, for health reasons.

Wade Griffin (far right above) has succeeded Michael McLeod as head football coach for the Mason Punchers. From 2021-24, Griffin headed up the Weimar program, which went 10-3 in 2024. Previously, Griffin was head coach for Giddings and earlier had coaching jobs that prepared him well to lead Mason, which has long been a 2AD1 power.
