Winding Down to Rise Again

We're in what is my most restless period of the year; spring sports are moving rapidly toward their final matchups but it's still a good ways until fall football begins.

So it shall be that I will spend most of the next several weeks preparing for he fall; setting up my annual means for tracking the high school teams, mainly in 2A and 3A with scattered pursuits elsewhere.

All said and done though: It's wonderful. There is nothing comparable to ports being played among young people, especially in the smaller schools and especially in Texas. The level of performance is high; the knowledge of the sport evidenced is truly amazing, among the athletes as well as among the coaches and fans.

So it is that sports will continue to be performed in these excellent ways but I will be discontinued on the active list; nonetheless, the games will continue, for decades if not for centuries to come.
