Are the Cardinals of 2024 the Best Ever for Columbus High?

The Cardinals are off to a rousing (4-0) start, scoring 60 or more points in each of their wins.

In most other years, with their current record, the Cardinals would probably be the #1 favorite to win the state 3AD1 title.  But Malakoff, last year’s champion (16-0) stands boldly in their way.   Malakoff is also off to a 4-0 start. If the two meet, it will likely be in the state final.

The Cardinals are expected to keep their perfect season going when they host Bellville this Friday, September 27th; and they should continue to win throughout the remainder of their regular season. Against Bellville, the Cardinals will be going for their eighth straight win at home.

Indeed, The Cardinal of 2024 are a very fine football team.
