Bushland Building Toward Claiming 3AD1 Football Title

It happens, s Texas high school excelling in a sport other than football, like Bushland HS, a 15-minute drive west of Amarillo on I-40.  The Lady Falcons have won7 state titles in volleyball; and the school excels in other sports as well as in literary events.

But things have been changing recently in Bushland football under HC and AD Josh Reynolds, who moved into that position in 2020 from having been the Falcon offensive coordinator.  In Reynolds, the Falcons have not lost more than three games annually.  In 2023, they were 11-2, losing to Paradise 14-36 in the sub-regional round.

Thus far in 2024, the Falcons are perfect (7-0); however, they face one of their toughest opponents this Friday, in Shallowater (5-2). The closest to losing the Falcons have come in 2024 was their overtime win over Dumas. 48-42, in Dumas, on Sept. 27th.

For many years, Bushland has long been known for the sand-buried cars buried near the town.  Hopefully, more attention will soon be turned to heading for Arlington and the state football title game.
