Odem Owls Aglow in the Winning Lights

Head Coach Armando Huerta has taught his team how to enjoy winning, and they’ve been doing lots of celebrating under Huerta’s leadership.


Indeed, the Owls have won consistently since Huerta took over the football helm in 2017.  He was named District 16 3AD2’s Coach of the Year in 2023.


But the Owls have never advanced beyond the regional final (2017).  So, this year they are aiming to push all the way to a possible state title.


Junior John Hinojosa is the leading rusher, and junior Rj Salinas, the quarterback. Thus, in terms of leadership, the Owls are still a young team.


Friday night, Nov. 1, the Owls host Banquete. On Nov. 8, they go to Santa Rosa to close out their 10-game schedule. They should win both games
