The Most Interesting People We Too Seldom Meet

ree

Who cares where a celebrated super star is at every moment?  Who is that star I worship dating or married too?  And most titillating of all, what are they doing with the little time they may have to themselves?

Who cares?  A lot, a WHOLE LOT of people, that’s who.

Otherwise, we would not be constantly searching for the latest news about these celebrities; and the news media would not be obsessed with letting us know what that latest new was/is/ or going to be about the stars we adore.

It's what makes the world go around, methinks.

Actually, our obsession with celebrity news says more about us than about them.   We have inside us a kind of malignant interest in being up on, and ahead of our neighbors on what’s happening among those we think are the greatest among us.

Aw!  There’s the rub.   Celebrities are human beings, just like everyone else.  They have personal habits and worries that are similar to those of everyone. Yet, they are in the news.  Most of us are not.

In many respects, the sameness within all of us just may be the driving force behind our “star ” obsession.  We want each to be different.   Already, we know most celebrities have a talent that we don’t have or else are in a place (children of the extremely wealthy) that most of us will never be; but what else are they about?

Alas, folks, it’s a sickness.  We actually tend to feel worse physically when the news about "stars" is not coming our way fast and furious/ We yearn to be “like them," those "stars we so admire.
So, it says here, restoring health to ourselves begins with liking who we are and being interested in who we are, what, why, when W E live as we do.

Do you like you?  That is my question? Do you do interesting stuff?  I believe you do, and frankly, I’d like to know you and your uniqueness.

.

Here, please allow me to illustrate with a few comments about people I've known to be THE most interesting: One is a woman who is about to be my age (89) yet continues her lifetime of playing the piano and organ for her church. Another is deceased, but I miss him mightily because he was the most outgoing person I've known; he has left behind more friends than anyone else I've known. My third example, also deceased, had lots of problems, but remarkably his descendants are all close to being as athletically skilled as he was; and they share that skill with others.
Not a friend, but my favorite teacher was in many respects a very ordinary man, who knew his subject inside and out and could talk about most anything concerning that subject without hesitation yet with awesome lucidity.

On and on, I could go, writing about plain folks" who should grab our attention.  But my point I made:

If you think you’re dull and boring, forget it!  You’re not.  You are wonderful!

And here's my advice to you: "hug yourself often and at length"

You are so very, very loveable; and I wouldn't trade you for the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Gregroy Peck. not for a moment.

Godspeed.

Can you connect the names of these six former presidents with the photos blow, which were taken when they were younger? Included are Richard Nixon, Donald Trump, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson
