The longest-ever presidential speech (99 minutes) is over, "Thank the Good Lord!"
Not only was the March 4th speech long, it was also boring; most importantly, however. the event showed how thoroughly bogus we have become throughout the USA--Democrats and Republicans, Independents, virtually every one of us. So much so, that time honored justice and equality have been related to ancient history by our tw0-numbered President (Trump is #45 and #47).

The event did not even start on time (Trump began
to speak right at 9;20 EST, at least 20 minutes behind schedule.
What followed was mostly empty bragging by Trump about his and DOGE'S accomplishments. On and on he went, telling multiple lies as fast as he could. which, as it turned out, took him a long while
But, as already made clear, there was commonality: The whole event was as phony as a $3 bill; there was almost nothing in it (see Melania and Al Green below) that came across as an authentic representation of America's core values, which, with Trump's' reelection in 2024, immediately became ancient history.
There was a lot of pomp of course. but with little or no relevance to the real and painful circumstances that exist for many among us and in other parts of our world. Aside from the beautiful Melania Trump, there was little to see that was] worth mentioning here. Most everything came across as unpleasant and, yes, as downright disgusting.
Even the Democrats were disgusting. In fact, they stood out with their shameful sit-downs (Most did not even stand when the President entered the chamber.)

There was, however, a notable exception, Texas representative Al Green did make his vocal protest before being forced to exit the gathering and, we assume, the building.
Go, Al, Go!
The main topic of Trump's speech, money, was so boring it caused sleepiness' among the on-site audience as well as in the homes of viewers.
Even the official presiders, V-P J.D. Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson, were ill-at-ease. (Vance, in particular, had difficulty deciding when to stand and sit. Johnson was more in tune with the up-and-down requirements of the occasion.)
I never before thought I'd say what I'm about to write, but I shall!
Thank you, Melania!
